The youth of our parish were very busy this summer here in our parish. Here are a few of the things that kept them going together in faith, love and community. During Mass our youth were present as worshippers, readers, cantors, organists and summer choir. A large group put on the production of Godspell. They were on stage, back stage, off stage, in the kitchen, selling tickets, running lights. This show was publicized as being put on by youth who believe the story. Many youth helped out with Vacation Bible School. What better way to share your faith than with younger children reading, singing, acting out and living the Bible stories! Some our youth were working for the church, school and cemetery. A great help is keeping our sacred spaces clean and neat. They were all very hard workers who came in smiling and lifting everyone’s spirits. One of the greatest experiences that a young person (even an older person) could have is to travel with others in a group to Rome! Many young people worked countless hours raising money for this trip by running a car wash, a dance and working concessions at Rock Cats games. When they returned, they held a pasta supper for their supporters and shared their stories and pictures. Others had opportunities to attend retreats. We are very blessed to have a very active youth ministry. Best wishes to our college students who continue their studies and to our high school students who continue to have an active presence in our parish. Fr. José Mercado Kimberlee Donahue Jean Degan Kathy Young |

Archbishop’s Annual Appeal |
Dear Father Joe DiSciacca: I wish to congratulate you and the good people of St. Joseph Parish for your generous support of this year’s Archbishop’s Annual Appeal. Your parish has certainly responded to this year’s campaign in a positive way and is truly committed to Sharing God’s Gifts throughout the Archdiocese. Please convey my gratitude to your parishioners for their edifying generosity. Many exciting things are happening within our Archdiocese, and I look forward to continue working with you as we forge ahead to strengthen our community of faith. It is only with the generous hearts and minds of our parishioners that we can meet the growing demands for our pastoral, charitable and educational services. Thank you for your leadership and continued enthusiasm. Be assured of my grateful prayers and continued best wishes for you and for all at St. Joseph Parish. Fraternally in Christ, +Most Reverend Henry J. Mansell Archbishop of Hartford |
